– CRC members amuse themselves with a fancy dress race. Rowing is established in GPS boys’ schools. CRC hosts the Southport School for Brisbane-based regattas.

– River picnics are popular at 17-mile rocks or 7-mile rocks. Some arrive by boat.

– CRC organises a Henley Regatta, a carnival regatta, to assist the Children’s hospital. 6 club regattas are held during the year, starting with the Dewar Regatta. Prizes are presented at a smoke concert in the evening, with the Lord Mayor presiding.

– The Great War. CRC membership is depleted — an incredible 136 of 160 members volunteer to fight.

– A fine function is held at the CRC clubhouse for 350 ladies and gentlemen for the unveiling of an Honour Board containing the names of 136 members who fought in the Great War. The Honour Board is made of silky oak and very beautifully carved. The names are on brass plates. Denis O’Connor said, “I doubt any other club could show such a high percentage of volunteers”.
