Masters rowing
Masters rowing at CRC offers a positive, supportive and fun environment for rowers aged 27 years+.
Our masters rowers are the heartbeat of our club and the foundation of our vibrant community.
Whether you're returning to rowing after some time away or you want to enjoy the outdoors and keep fit, we welcome athletes of all skill levels, from recreational rowers to those chasing championship medals.
We have both male and female masters squads who train to compete at the Queensland State Masters Championships, Australian Masters Rowing Championships as well as various international campaigns and head of the river events.
In Australia, masters rowing is divided into age-based categories to ensure fair competition and encourage lifelong participation:
- Category A: 27–35 years
- Category B: 36–42 years
- Category C: 43–49 years
- Category D: 50–54 years
- Category E: 55–59 years
- Category F: 60–64 years
- Category G: 65–69 years
- Category H: 70–74 years
- Category I: 75–79 years
- Category J: 80–84 years
- Category K: 85+ years
We work hard to recruit coaches, offer programming tailored to individual rowing campaigns and provide a quality fleet of boats for competition.
Recreational rowing
For our recreational rowers, there are lots of opportunities to form crews with people who have similar rowing capabilities, goals and aspirations.
We offer coached rowing camps during the year. It’s a great way to enjoy a leisurely row, improve your technique and socialise with your club mates.
