2000 – The Sydney Olympics. James Burton is selected as reserve. Rowing legends of the world visit CRC for a sprint regatta — Matthew Pinsent, Steve Redgrave, Mike McKay, Zino Muller, Bo Hansen and others. CRC supports Lourdes Hill and Nudgee rowing programs. Chairman of Southbank Corporation, Steve Wilson, floats the idea of relocating to Southbank. CRC collects $11,850 in regatta prize money!

2001 – CRC member Karin Adams is severely injured and partner Anthony Jay dies on their return journey from the Queensland State Championship at Wivenhoe Dam.

2002 – The Brisbane City Council and Queensland Government prevail, and CRC is banished from the city reach forever! CRC moves to 150 Jane St West End as part of the Davies Park Rowing Precinct, a positive sign for the future. Clubhouse 8. The Queensland Department of Public Works provides $100,000 towards the fit out. CRC celebrates its 125th anniversary and the new Wal Hughes clubhouse is opened! Australian legendary rower James Tomkins speaks at the 125th anniversary celebration about why his row in the 1985 CRC 8+ was the best ever!

2004 – CRC Corporate Regatta is run with the Life Stream Foundation as new charity partner, organised by Steve Kerin. It achieves record-breaking results. “Without this event, club fees would need to double and new boats would be a dream” Kerin said. CRC is voted ‘Club of the Year’ by Rowing Queensland.

2005 – CRC Corporate Regatta in partnership with the Life Stream Foundation and ‘Rock the Boat’ is again, a resounding success. CRC faces new challenges — City Cats, the changing neighbourhood of West End, government regulation and the conduct of Queensland Academy of Sport. Ben Shaw takes over direction of coaches — CRC boasts 10 regular coaches and achieves great results.

2006 – CRC secures sponsorship with Barambah Wines. CRC spends $100k to purchase 7 pairs, 2 second hand quad/fours and a new trailer, thanks to the Corporate Regatta! CRC masters women venture overseas to compete in the North Asia Pacific Rowing Championship.

2007 – CRC employs John Bowes as professional Rowing Director, enabled by its continuous success of Corporate Rowing and ‘Rock the Boat’, and securing of sponsorship. However, CRC Treasurer issues a warning on dwindling numbers to support ongoing fundraising efforts.

2008 – Pippa Savage competes in Beijing Olympics in W1x. Challenges emerge with loss of income from ‘Rock the Boat’ and other avenues due to the world financial crisis.

2009 – CRC experiences financial difficulty in maintaining its Rowing Director contract.
